Frequently Asked Questions

OPIE Manufacturing Group is committed to responsible manufacturing through sustainable sourcing, efficient production, recycling, lower-emission technologies and community engagement. Our approach is guided by a simple principle: Source sustainably. Produce responsibly. Thrive together.

Our solar energy systems produce approximately 328,500 kWh of renewable electricity per year, helping reduce our reliance on grid-supplied electricity and supporting more sustainable manufacturing operations.

OPIE Manufacturing Group recycles approximately 600,000 kg of metal each year. Recycling manufacturing offcuts and other recyclable metals helps reduce waste and keeps valuable materials in productive use.

OPIE Green Loop Recycling is our initiative focused on creating a more circular approach to materials. It encourages materials generated through our manufacturing activities to be recovered, reused and recycled wherever practical rather than treated simply as waste.

Yes. We aim to source raw materials responsibly and work with suppliers that support appropriate environmental and ethical practices. Sustainability, quality, suitability and responsible procurement are important considerations within our supply chain.

Where appropriate, we prioritise materials that are durable, recyclable, renewable or capable of delivering a lower environmental impact. As a metal manufacturer, material longevity and recyclability are important parts of our approach to product design and production.

We continue to adopt technologies, equipment and manufacturing processes designed to improve efficiency and reduce our environmental footprint. This includes renewable energy generation, recycling programs, efficient production methods and investment in modern manufacturing technology.

Yes. OPIE uses low-voltage lighting as part of our broader efforts to improve energy efficiency across our manufacturing operations and facilities.

It represents the three interconnected areas of our sustainability approach:

Source Sustainably means considering environmental and ethical factors when selecting materials and suppliers.

Produce Responsibly means improving manufacturing efficiency, recycling materials, reducing waste and investing in technologies that can lower our environmental impact.

Thrive Together recognises that long-term sustainability also depends on strong employees, suppliers, customers, industry partnerships and communities.
